Being a 3D Artist is hard. Our work is engulfing and we often don’t have time to keep up with the ever-changing world of 3D.
This newsletter is designed to be a concise list of amazing artwork, 3D news, and updates on tutorials and educational opportunities so can keep up with everything going on in the world of 3D. I plan on this being a once-a-week thing and hopefully we can grow from there.
This is the very first edition and I don’t expect it to be amazing out of the gate, but I plan to iterate and update this as we move along. Please let me know if you have thoughts or ideas (michaeltanzillo@gmail.com)

3D Artist of the Week
This project, A Day with Gawa, is simply stunning. When I read that this was a student piece for Think Tank Academy I was floored. The attention to detail is astounding and the ability to capture every surface single surface of the scene is meszmerizing. The skin, the clothing, and all the objects in the room are rendered with such precision and detail that it’s clear that Almog is showing a mastery of his craft.

3D Tutorials
For this first 3D tutorial I am going to share…I’ll be selfish and post one of my own. Click here to check out a tutorial on creating 3D models inside of Adobe Illustrator! You did not read that wrong, you can convert vector art to 3D models!! Below is an example of a dumpling I created (my nieces named it Little Miss Sparkle Bao Bao). This was modeled in Illustrator and rendered in Substance 3D Stager.
