We are seeking an experienced Sr 3D Generalist to join the Exo Sphere Creative Design Services (CDS) Production team in the development of technology and content for the Exo Sphere. This artist is key creating in helping guide creating efficiencies in the VFX pipeline to create and delivery final content that goes up on Exo Sphere.
An integral part of our Production and Creative team, responsible for the execution of visual content across a gamut of immersive experiences and Ads on Exo Sphere. The ideal candidate is progressive, forward thinking, values design, storytelling, animation, innovation, and enjoys pushing the creative boundaries to visualize the unseen. They work with the Creative Directors, VFX Supervisors, and project leadership to contribute to the execution of large-scale content production, delivering world-class ideas and first-of-its-kind experiences and innovations. This artist will be part of a larger Production team creating final content for the Exo Sphere venue.

3D Art Generalist, Horizon Responsibilities:
Partner closely with art leadership and the engineering and design teams to define and develop prototypes and polished content in Unity and proprietary VR world-building tools.
Oversee and manage layout, implementation and optimization of environment and interactive objects (including models, textures and shaders).
Manage external vendors and provide feedback on externally developed projects.
Responsible for outlining asset authoring guidelines, process and pipeline as needed.
Work with engineers and technical artists to inform asset creation pipelines.
Asset optimization -- topology reduction, draw call reduction, texture baking, etc.
Work closely with engineers to implement interactive objects and systems.
Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional peers.
Collaborate and iterate based on the team's needs.
Demonstrate broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks.
Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills.

Sr Texture Artist

The Sr Texture Artist is responsible for the creation, delivery, and maintenance of high-level textures and texture templates for digital characters, organic assets, hard surface assets, and environments within LAIKA’s VFX department. This position works closely with Asset Leads and the Asset Supervisor to provide technical and aesthetic assistance with a high degree of technical expertise and artistic skills to achieve the desired result.
Job Functions
Responsible for creating complex textures for a variety of surface qualities needed in the creation of high-quality CG characters and hard-surface models used in production.
Proactively report issues and solutions for technical and artistic problems.
Assess references and reproduce textures with great attention to detail and efficiency while translating concept art into photo-real surface properties
Help create and improve workflows, templates, specifications and the quality of textures through constant research and implementation of procedural workflows and consistent organized frameworks.
Help maintain the texture library and training documentation as per guidance of the Asset Leads and Supervisor.
Work closely with all disciplines within the Asset department to troubleshoot creative and technical issues.
Perform basic modeling, look dev, and rendering tasks for texture development, as needed.
Communicate effectively with Production, Asset Leads and the Asset Supervisor to consistently produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
Assist Asset Leads with mentoring, training, and developing team members within the VFX department.
