Did you know there are jobs for 3D artists to create animations for slot machines and other video-based games?!?!?! Neither did I!
While it makes sense that someone has to design those, I didn't realize it was a whole industry. That's precisely what Light & Wonder specializes in, and they are hiring! Check out their job openings and more below!

Houdini Designer
London, England
We’re looking for an experienced Houdini designer to join our team in London. Working with clients like Channel 4, Coca-Cola, Google, IBM and Ralph Lauren, we’re looking for someone who will drive R&D, offer creative and efficient solutions to technical problems and evolve the quality of the studio's output.
The Houdini focus of this role means we need someone with experience integrating it into studio workflows, around areas like photorealism and fluid simulations. We also need to see a portfolio demonstrating how it has elevated projects and results. We are looking for someone who brings energy, technical expertise and problem-solving acumen. Meticulous attention to detail, both creatively and technically, is also crucial.
The 3D Artist Community Updates!
Updates:
We had our first round of Blender Awesomeness with our own Kursad Karatas. Kursad is a 3D Generalist with 25+ years of experience and a fantastic teacher. In this first session, he answered community members’ questions about beveling, render settings and workflows, and creating assets for apparel design.
Last week, we had an inspiring AMA with Apple's Lead Motion Artist, Jeremy Postell. Jeremy gave incredible insights into his journey from his first job to Nike to Adidas and Apple. I highly encourage anyone in the community to watch the recording.
As always, we have our Virtual Café and Community Hangout for all our members to get together and collaborate.
