We are seeking a talented and passionate 3D Technical Artist to join our team. In this role, you will be supporting HNTB's Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Real-time media group...a team dedicated to developing real-time media for the Built Environment. In this role you will bridge the gap between 3D artists and programmers, ensuring that our Design Models and 3D assets are not only visually stunning but also optimized for performance in our gaming engine deliverables developed primarily in Unity. You will play a critical role in the development process, working closely with both the art and development teams to create high-quality game experiences.

3D Artist, Horizon Responsibilities:
Partner closely with art leadership and the engineering and design teams to define and develop polished products for VR/MR/XR
Work with engineers and technical artists to inform asset creation pipelines and implement systems
Oversee and manage layout, implementation and optimization of environment and interactive objects (including models, textures and shaders).
Manage external vendors and provide feedback on externally developed projects.
Responsible for outlining asset authoring guidelines, process and pipeline as needed.
Quickly solve issues, collaborate, and iterate within the team and cross-functional peers.
Demonstrate broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks.
Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop task lists to ensure assignments are progressing in alignment with schedules, milestones and overall project goals.

Develop best in class real-time 3D visualizations across a variety of applications within the vehicle.
Author custom 3D art assets, shaders, and material libraries
Create progressive, intuitive, and reliable applications for the Rivian in-vehicle experience .
Collaborate with the UX/UI Team and Studio Team to realize beautiful, cutting edge 3D experiences.
Test the in-vehicle experience in the lab and in Rivian prototype vehicles.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues found during testing.
Collaborate with other divisions in understanding and sharing of technology roadmaps, portfolios and intellectual property.
Proactively improve the asset tools and pipeline, including maintaining best practices for integration into Unreal Engine.
Profiling and optimizing assets for minimal CPU/GPU cost while maintaining high visual quality.
