Senior 3D Visualization Designer

Boom Supersonic is redefining commercial flight by bringing supersonic flight back to the skies with Overture.
The Senior 3D Visualization Designer will contribute to design projects from concept to execution and deliver world-class visualizations, renderings, videos, and animations in service of product marketing, brand development, and product design.
This person will work closely with the Head of Design, as well as industrial designers and engineers to translate CAD geometry and engineering data into visually and emotionally compelling static and motion-based digital assets.
This position requires excellent 3D modeling, rendering, and animation skills, excellent time and project management skills, a high attention to detail, and enthusiasm for collaboration and constructive feedback.

Role Overview
Deliver photorealistic images and animations that communicate detailed product features and attributes to internal and external audiences
Contribute to development of real-time visualization in Unreal Engine and implement ongoing geometry and material updates into existing models
Produce quick visualizations (sketch/clay renderings, Photoshop images) to rapidly communicate working design concepts
Supports marketing, investor and customer presentations by creating compelling visuals that accurately communicate hard and soft materials and geometry
Create renderings and presentations to communicate the design of architectural environments
Develop and contribute to VR/AR experiences and installations to bring design concepts to life

A client is looking for a skilled 3D designer to support an architectural visualization project involving both interiors and exteriors. The role requires creating a highly detailed 3D model based on existing AutoCAD drawings (.dwg format) and producing photorealistic renderings. There is also potential for animation work, depending on feasibility. This is a remote freelance contract with the possibility of follow-up projects after successful delivery. The timeline is short, so the ideal candidate will be able to begin immediately and deliver within a fast turnaround.
Deliverables
Develop an accurate 3D model from provided AutoCAD architectural drawings
Create high-quality interior and exterior renderings suitable for presentation and client review
Ensure realistic textures, lighting, and environmental details are applied to enhance visual appeal
Provide project files and final outputs in industry-standard formats
Optionally produce a short 3D animation if resources and time allow
Revise work based on client feedback to ensure alignment with project goals

This position is expected to start around January 2026 and continue through the Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2026) or continuing into Summer 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
